Luke 10:38-42The Gospel of Luke Part IV - Encountering Jesus

Description:
What does Jesus want from me? If your answer to this question centers on work that you can do for Jesus, it will lead you to a life full of anxiety, frustration, and exhaustion. If, however, you understand the true answer to this question, it will lead to a life of peace, joy, and satisfaction. What Jesus wants most from you is YOU. Jesus wants your presence more than your performance. He wants your worship more than your work. He wants your focus to be upon Him before focusing upon what you can do for Him. Jesus wants to feed you before you feed others. You cannot give what you have not received. It is not that serving God with our work is bad, but our service must flow out of intimacy with Christ.
Assume the posture of a disciple this week: sit and listen at the feet of Jesus. Carve out time in your life to sit quietly in His presence and feast upon His word. Spend time ministering to Him in worship and receiving ministry from Him through His word. Remember, worship is the fuel of discipleship. To propel your Christian walk, spend time in God’s presence, and respond to Him with your entire being. In the midst of all your Christian activity, do not miss the “one thing” God wants most: time with you.
