Encountering the Disciples

Luke 5:1-11
The Gospel of Luke Part IV - Encountering Jesus

Description:
We serve a God who is passionate about people. The Bible is clear that no man naturally seeks God on his own; nevertheless, every day new disciples are brought into the kingdom of Christ. This only happens because God is at work behind the scenes, revealing Himself to people’s hearts, drawing people to Himself, and granting the faith and repentance that leads to life. This was Jesus’ mission: to seek and save the lost. The mission of Christ was focused on people. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that this is the mission in which Jesus calls His followers to engage. When we follow Jesus, He makes us fishers of men. We, the people of Christ, are God’s means of making disciples in every nation.

Continue to respond to this message by praying for God to open the blind eyes of the lost. Since salvation is of the Lord, it is imperative that we pray to God for the salvation of the lost. Pray that God will draw your lost friends, family members, and neighbors to Himself, opening their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Pray that God would reveal Himself to the lost people of Valley Ranch. Furthermore, ask God to help you see how He intends to use you in His disciple-making mission. Make sure you are stewarding all of God’s gifts to engage, reach, and minister to people. Jesus wants to make you a fisher of men!
