This year has been unique in every way, and we have a special event planned for our women this Christmas. We are unable to have our annual Christmas Dinner, but we are excited to show the love of Christ to refugee women in our community!
We will be filling 35 baskets full of blessings that will be used by local missionaries to share the gospel this Christmas. Each basket will include items like jewelry, makeup, homemade masks, $25 gifts cards, homemade baked goods, and special gospel materials written in Arabic. There will be a special Christmas celebration where the story of Ruth will be shared with the women as they receive their baskets. This is a great opportunity for the missionaries and volunteers to check in on many of the families that they have not seen this year due to social distancing.
We are asking the women of MacArthur Blvd to support this project by donating items needed to fill the baskets or to contribute $15 in lieu of buying a ticket to the Annual Christmas Dinner.
We would also love for you to join us in a time of fellowship and basket assembly on December 6. After the Worship Gathering, there will be a box lunch in the foyer for those who signed up. You are invited to eat lunch and help assemble the baskets. We will be asking everyone to wear a mask while we are moving around and assembling the baskets.
Please stop by the table in the foyer on Nov. 22 or 29 to let us know which items you are committing to bringing, as we will need 35 of each item. You can also drop off a donation or leave it at the church office with a note: “Refugee Christmas Baskets”. We will need all gifts brought to the church by December 3.
If you are unable to join us in person right now, but would still like to participate, please reach out to Bonnie Bolander @ bonnie.bolander@gmail.com. Bonnie will be able to share what items are still needed and how you can be involved.
Here is a list of the items needed for each basket:

Lotion
Make up: lip stick, eye liner or mascara
Fuzzy socks

Thank you so much for supporting this special Christmas missions opportunity. We will miss being with all of you for our annual Christmas Dinner, but are excited to use this time to minister and share the Good News of Christmas with these women!
